How software devs ended up becoming retail salesmen

Can we talk about how any idea you can think of has already been implemented 10x better as someone's side project. If you want to monetize it, it's all dependent on sales marketing and all that boring non tech stuff at this point. It's amazing how technical advancement might kill technical advancement. With AI dev roles will definitely be decreasing but experienced people would still be in demand. Even if AI get superintelligent you'd still need someone to stitch it. But that kills the jobs for all inexperienced dev roles. We are going through a paradigm shift, You look at the early stages of the internet they got paid for the implementation. Just making sites was a tough job. Then we have early 2000-2010s people built on ideas and they got paid for the ideas, execution was just a hiring problem. And we have today, ideas are easily available there is truly nothing new under the sun. All that's left in tech right now are the new technologies and marketing the same products built from the same tools everyone uses. It's amusing to think that software in the end becomes just like retail with new shops opening up regularly but only the well established ones actually making money. I'm genuinely very curious what the next new world changing tech will be. My money is on quantum, might start learning, looks like a fad I'd actually want to work in.
